Plastic bottle floating on a water body

Message for new person: Old Wine, Older Bottle!

There was always a message in the bottle for new man to read, all he lacked was willingness.

I had clicked this photo in the month of Feb’21 at Bhigwan, Maharashtra, India. This place is very famous amongst bird lovers at all levels budding, maturing and matured and in stages between these if any.

Migratory birds bring with them their aura, and “migratory photographers” as mentioned above and with that comes permanent litter! Litter in absolute and data state.

We take so much from these birds—admiration, photos, and memories—but give back so little in return.

While clicking this image I just wanted to take a beautiful reflection, little did I realize that while viewing again this would make me sick to the core realizing these thoughts written above.

These kind of bottles are also used by local fishermen, which are also increasing in numbers over the year, for putting fishing nets. Although good for floating and marking areas it is doing more harm than good on the ecosystem since plastic is damaging water due to heat in the nature.

Collectively we need to change our perspective for litter and reduce it in every step of our life.

Every small change matters. Whether it’s refusing single-use plastics or joining a clean-up drive, let’s ensure that the beauty of places like Bhigwan isn’t tarnished for future generations.

Very articulate! The photograph clearly conveys the message of zero waste, especially in the wetlands. If more people think like you, then our environment would be a better place for both us and the flora and fauna, and of course, we would be leaving a cleaner earth to the gen-next.
